The Roberts Creek Arts Festival.

I'll be presenting new work at Goldmoss Gallery During the 2013 Roberts Creek Arts Festival. Please join us at the opening reception on May 17th.

2013...

I'm spending time in my studio creating new work for several local and international group shows this year. One of the Galleries I'm showing at here in BC is Goldmoss Gallery recently they asked me to write some words about myself and process for the launch of their new site.

My Fine art is mainly figurative portraits rendered on canvas or paper with mostly water based mixed media and spray paint. Most of my portraits are of a single character or pair and suggests a sense of solitude and aloneness. My work in the past has taken a minimalist approach without much narrative element leaving out anything that may detract from the darker emotive power of the human form. I want to capture a wide range of emotive states and subtle nuances using dramatic characters and colour combinations. What results is an authentic depiction of the universal vulnerability of the human condition in which we see ourselves and inspires in it's worst moments, sympathy and pity and in it's best, compassion.

KNOWMAG.

My work and feature in the latest issue of Knowmag.

Kale JF X Ben Tour.

Fashion photography has long been one of my frequent inspirations. Since meeting my friend photographer Kale Friesen and watching his work evolve I knew I wanted to collaborate with his imagery on a model based project that merged our two techniques. This is Aenigma.
Our friends at Knowmag have published the work in the latest issue as well as featuring my work on the cover with a full interview and feature. Many thanks to everyone involved. Life is good.

Sunshine Coast.

I recently displayed my painting #havok at Goldmoss Gallery in beautiful Robert's Creek BC during the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl. I love my new hometown. Thanks to everyone who attended the opening. Photos by Jonathan Dy.

My Summer Vacation 2012.

Finally posting photos of my trip to Summerland BC, heart of Okanagan wine country. Many thanks go to Mark Brand and Catalog Creative for teaming me up with Scott Sueme to paint the interior and exterior of their new custom office at OCP/Okangan Crush Pad. The office is a transformed shipping container.
Our theme was the letter O.
Magical wine, beautiful food and good times were had.
